Terms of Service

These terms set out how South Star Web Design ("we", "us") works with clients. The written quote we send you for a specific project, together with these terms, forms the agreement between us.

Quotes and payment

• Every project starts with a written, fixed-price quote. The price doesn't change unless the scope of the work changes, and any change is quoted and agreed in writing before we do it.
• Build fees are one-off. The Hosting & Care plan is billed monthly, with an initial 12-month term, then rolling monthly.
• Payment terms (deposit and balance) are stated on each quote.

What you own

• Once the build fee is paid, the finished website and its content belong to you.
• Your domain name is registered in your name and stays yours.
• If you leave us, we'll hand over your site files, content and domain access at no extra charge.

Your responsibilities

• You confirm that any text, images or logos you supply are yours to use.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of information about your business that you ask us to publish.

Hosting & Care

• The plan covers hosting, SSL, uptime monitoring, security updates and small content edits as described on our pricing page.
• Larger changes are quoted separately before any work starts.
• After the initial 12-month term you can cancel with one month's notice.

Liability

We build and look after your site with reasonable skill and care. We're not liable for loss of profits or indirect losses arising from downtime or errors beyond our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
